Our client in the Toronto area is on the hunt for a Continuous Improvement Specialist. This key position plays a crucial role in identifying, analyzing, and implementing operational enhancements to boost efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will support on-the-ground operations, spearhead uptime improvement initiatives, and lead quarterly Kaizen events, working closely with the management team to drive lean projects from start to finish. This high-impact role focuses on reducing expenses and optimizing plant operations, perfect for someone with a zeal for manufacturing excellence, stellar customer service, and team leadership.

Pay: $110,000.00-$115,000.00 per year

Key Responsibilities

– Enhance manufacturing safety, quality, service, cost, and delivery timelines.

– Develop and execute continuous improvement strategies.

– Spot both immediate and long-term improvement opportunities.

– Instruct teams in Lean / Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies.

– Organize and facilitate Kaizen and Continuous Improvement events.

– Collaborate with other locations to exchange insights and Kaizen outcomes, with travel up to 15%.

Essential Outcomes

– Lead the adoption of operational best practices and minimize process variability through Lean initiatives.

– Support achieving superior safety, quality, service, delivery, and cost performance, aligning with or surpassing organizational targets.

– Lay the groundwork for ongoing improvement efforts.

– Educate the organization at all levels on Lean methodologies like Kaizen, 5S, TPM, etc.

– Cultivate a culture of rapid adaptation to change, ensuring engagement and accountability across the board.

Professional Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management (preferred).

– Over 5 years of experience in leading significant business transformations.

– Robust change management skills and a track record of effective leadership.

– Formal Lean and Six Sigma training from a reputable institution (preferred).

– Direct involvement in leading over 25 Kaizen events.

– Demonstrated ability to achieve KPIs related to supply chain efficiency, cycle time reduction, and inventory management.

– Exceptional communication, analytical, and presentation skills.

– Proven project management skills or PMP Certification is a plus.
